Have Good Friends and Be a Good Friend
Boys, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of having good friends in your life. You need them and they will need you. Friends will surround you from the time of your youth until the time you go to heaven and beyond. Be sure to pick good ones. Let the negative ones go. Your friends need to add to your life, not take away from it.
Where will you find your friends?
This is probably not overly important to list, because friends will come to you from all aspects of life, but here are a few friend groups you will have over the years.
- Family – I hope you are best friends to each other.
- Early schooling – Grade school, middle school, and high school
- College
- Jobs
- Athletics
- Organization involvement
- Parents who have kids your age
- Church
- The gym
- Places you frequent
Your Best Friends
Your best friends are worth their weight in gold. These people will be there for you no matter what comes in life. You can count on them through thick and thin. Make sure you have best friends. I know I said it before, but make sure you are a good best friend too. Friendship is a two-way street. Be there for your friends whenever they need you.
A Song
There are so many songs that talk about friendship, but there is one in particular that stands out to me. Check out “You Find Out Who Your Friends Are” by Tracy Lawrence. It’s a good one. The YouTube video is below.
Last Words
Find a good friend. Be a better friend.
