Calico Fund and RATS: An Introduction

Calico Fund: The Quick Story

I will keep this short and sweet. I have been following the stock market for decades now. In the last few years, I have made a concerted effort to understand the market as much as possible to maximize my returns. Two years ago I wrote a program to automatically trade cryptocurrency (RATS). It was awesome and I loved the output. I set it aside because I was breaking even after paying the fractional trade commissions.

Last year I modified RATS to include analysis and trade suggestions for the stock market. The market does not charge for trades anymore, so it seemed like a good idea. Then other things happened and the system had to take a back seat for a while.

A few weeks ago I dusted off the RATS system and made some updates. It has been producing suggestions since January 5th, 2021. In order to share my suggestions, and to keep myself honest, I have created a blog that I call Calico Fund. The name is derived from the cat. The fund is a collection of stocks in kind of a “mutt” or “calico” format. Thus the name. Each night I post the trades generated by the system for the next day. All buys are considered holds until the sell signal is produced. Nothing is a buy until the buy is produced.

You are welcome to check it out. Keep in mind, I am not an advisor and the suggestions made by the system are for your information only. You conduct all trading on your own and at your own risk.
